Unit economics
Compare the complete cost of a successful intelligence outcome.
Overview
Useful unit economics include inference, control-plane, retry, evaluation, human-review, and operational costs relative to a defined successful outcome.
- Choose a workload-level unit.
- Measure success and failure consistently.
- Include retries and escalations.
- Preserve model and provider attribution.
- Do not report projected savings as measured savings.
Production checklist
- Keep credentials in a server-side secret store.
- Set explicit cost, latency, privacy, provider, and regional constraints.
- Capture route and evaluation evidence for incident review.
- Test timeouts, cancellation, fallback, and denied-policy paths before rollout.
